ASPEN, CO — April 26, 2022 — Rowland+Broughton Architecture / Urban Design / Interior Design is pleased to announce the promotion of two team members in our Denver studio. Project Manager Brandon Herbst is promoted to Associate and 3D Artist and Designer Brady Fitzgerald is promoted to Senior Visual Artist.

For over a decade, Associate Brandon Herbst has shown an all-encompassing passion for and appreciation of design. Over his four years at R+B’s Denver studio, his approachable and professional manner exhibited through open communication with our team, clients, and partners has been key to both firm and project success.

A skilled project manager, designer, and computer modeler, Brandon provides a unique perspective on technology’s role in the design, communication, and project delivery process. He understands the importance of a firm’s connection to its community and has been heavily involved in local AIA chapters. In 2017 Brandon received the AIAOC Service Award for his commitment to design and work on the AIAOC Design Awards committee.

Brandon is actively pursuing his architecture license and received his Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic Institute San Luis Obispo. Prior to joining R+B, he was the senior designer and director of technology and innovation for Anders Lasater Architects, a design firm in Laguna Beach, CA. He also has experience in furniture design and construction and has collaborated on several custom kitchen and furniture designs. A California native, Brandon is an outdoor enthusiast with a penchant for board sports. He is also an avid cook.

Acknowledging his promotion to Associate, Brandon notes, “I am honored and immensely excited to join the leadership team at Rowland+Broughton. This promotion is a testament to the values we share, an expression of trust in the relationships we’ve built, and an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of our firm.  John, Sarah, and each member of the leadership group have served as exceptional mentors to our team and stewards to our profession and embody the core values that make R+B unique – our commitment to Design, Service, Leadership, Integrity, and Balance.  I am eager and inspired to carry that tradition forward and ensure those values resonate within every project we touch and throughout our firm as a whole.”

A big picture thinker, Senior Visual Artist Brady Fitzgerald’s wealth of technical knowledge, penchant for problem solving, and commitment to producing the best results possible is evident in every aspect of his work. His experience with software such as 3D Studio Max, Rhinoceros, Zbrush, the Adobe Suite, Revit, and V-Ray has enhanced the capabilities and creativity of the firm.

As an extension of his primary role, Brady runs and operates the Creative Lab, an inspirational arm of design for the studio specializing in 3D printing and model creation services and providing architectural visualizations and designs as needed.

Prior to joining R+B’s Denver studio in 2019, Brady worked at MA Architects and led his own studio, Fitzgerald Visualizations, both in Denver. He has also been an instructor at University of Colorado Boulder, from which he received a Bachelor of Architectural Design from the University of Colorado Boulder School of Environmental Design. Originally from Fort Collins, CO, Brady enjoys golfing, tinkering, and building 3D worlds as he spearheads VR and Game development in his free time.

Reflecting on his promotion, Brady notes, “I appreciate the camaraderie and teachings Rowland+Broughton and my colleagues have provided me over the years, and I plan to take those lessons with me into the future. The many opportunities that R+B has provided have been immensely important to my personal growth and development as a professional. I’ve always ventured on one philosophy, “No Pressure, No Diamonds.”

About the promotions, R+B Principal Sarah Broughton, FAIA, NCIDQ, shares, “We are extremely excited to have elevated Brandon to Associate. His natural leadership and design thinking are vital to the firm, and having an additional partner increases our flow and allows us to collectively rise. A continuing influx of innovative, high-caliber projects calls for exceptional technical knowledge and visualization capabilities, and Brady’s creativity and explorative process is invaluable. Congratulations all around!”
